The MCMI-IV is designed to help the clinician assess psychopathology with a specific focus on personality difficulties. It is aligned with the DSM diagnostic system and is useful in clinical settings that require objective measurement of personality disorders and clinical syndromes.

 

This self-directed e-Learning consists of 7 modules that unpack the history and development of this assessment along with case studies, resources, and a quiz.

Module 7: Case studies (45 min.)

24 Question quiz – 90 marks (17 multiple choice questions and 7 free text questions)

Is this programme for me?

Psychologists, intern psychologists, and student psychologists (currently completing a Master’s Degree in psychology) who want to upskill in the assessment of mental disorders, identification of specific problem areas, and treatment planning in a variety of settings.

Completion of this progamme does not licence any professional to practice outside their official scope of practice. The intention with the programme is to broaden the professional knowledge of the instrument but does not constitute a certification training or the right to access the assessment materials. Within South Africa, psychology professionals must be registered with the HPCSA and practice within their scope of practice.
